- Sujet
- Afadin is an actin filament-binding protein that is involved in cell-cell adherens junctions (AJs) which directly interacts with the alpha herpus virus receptor, a member of the immunoglobulin supergene family. Afadin is colocalized with nectin at cadherin-based cell-cell adherence junctions in various tissues and cell lines. L-Afadin has been isolated as an F-actin-binding protein from rat brain. L-afadin is ubiquitously expressed and specifically localized at zonula adherens (ZA) in epithelial cells and at cell-cell adherens junctions (AJs) in non-epithelial cells. L-afadin has a splice variant, named small intestine absorptive afadin (s-afadin) which is abundantly expressed in neural tissue.Synonyms: Myeloid/lymphoid Or Mixed-lineage Leukemia Translocated To 4, Protein AF-6
