ELISA: To detect hNP-1 by direct ELISA (using 100 l/well antibody solution) this antibodycan be used at a concentration of 0.15 - 0.30 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatiblesecondary reagents, allows the detection of at least 0.2 ng/well of recombinant hNP-1. Western Blot: To detect hNP-1 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at aconcentration of 0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagentsthe detection limit for recombinant hNP-1 is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing ornon-reducing conditions. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Defensins are a group of cyclic peptides containing 29-35 amino acids, which comprise approximately 30 % of the total protein content of neutrophil azurophilic granules. Various functions have been reported for the defensins, including antibacterial and antifungal activity and chemotactic activity for monocytes.Synonyms: DEF-1, DEF-3, DEF-A1, DEF-A2, DEF-A3, DEF1, DEF3, DEFA-1, DEFA-2, DEFA-3, DEFA1, DEFA2, DEFA3, Defensin alpha 1, Defensin alpha 3, HNP-1, HNP-3, HNP1, HNP3, HP-1, HP-3, HP1, HP3, MRS, Neutrophil defensin 1, Neutrophil defensin 3
