- Sujet
- Ezrin (also known as p81, 80K, or cytovillin) is a cytoplasmic protein which is enriched in microvilli and other cell surface structures. Its NH2-terminal domain is associated with the plasma membrane and the COOH-terminal domain with the cytoskeleton. Ezrin has an actin-binding capability. Ezrin is expressed in epithelial cells but not in mesenchymal cells. Ezrin is also expressed by certain epithelial tumors, such as renal cell adenocarcinomas. Ezrin serves as a tyrosine kinase substrate, and is phosphorylated in EGF-stimulated cellsSynonyms: Cytovillin, EZR, VIL2, Villin-2, p81
