- Human Herpes Virus 6 (HHV6) has two variants A and B and infects most children before the age of 3 years resulting in roseola amongst other clinical manifestations. These variants differ from one another with respect to their cell tropism, genomic DNA sequences, and protein expression. Most infections are caused by variant B.Synonyms: HHV-6
