Specific for GABARAP.
Immunogène
A synthetic peptide from human GABA(A) receptor-associated protein (GABARAP, MM46, FLC3B) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein has been used as the antigen. The antigen is homologous in rat and mouse.
Use at a concentration of 10-50 µg/ml. The optimal working concentration should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.

Autophagy is the process by which endogenous proteins and damaged organelles are destroyed intracellularly.autophagy is postulated to be essential for cell homeostasis and cell remodeling during differentiation, metamorphosis, non-apoptotic cell death, and aging. Reduced levels ofautophagy have been described in some malignant tumors, and a role forautophagy in controlling the unregulated cell growth linked to cancer has been proposed. GABARAP belongs ot a large family of proteins that mediate intracellular membrane trafficking and/or fusion. GABARAP binds not only to GABA, type A but also to tubulin, gephrin, and ULK1. May play a role in intracellular transport of GABA(A) receptors and its interaction with the cytoskeleton. It interacts with GPHN and NSF, interacts with GABRG2, beta-tubulin and ULK1. Subcellular location: Intracytoplasmic membrane. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton. Note: Largely associated with intracellular membrane structures including the Golgi apparatus and post-synaptic cisternae. Colocalizes with microtubules. Tissue specificity: Heart, brain, placenta, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney and pancreas. Also known as: GABA(A) receptor-associated protein, MM46, GABARAP.
