A synthetic peptide from the n-terminal of human VPS24 conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the antigen. The antigen is homologous in rat and mouse.

CHMP3
(Charged Multivesicular Body Protein 3 (CHMP3))
FUNCTION: Component of the ESCRT-III complex, which is required for multivesicular bodies (MVBs) formation and sorting of endosomal cargo proteins into MVBs. The MVB pathway mediates delivery of transmembrane proteins into the lumen of the lysosome for degradation. The ESCRT-III complex is probably involved in the concentration of MVB cargo. Required for sorting/trafficking of EGF receptor. In case of infection, the HIV-1 virus takes advantage of the ESCRT-III complex for budding and exocytic cargos of viral proteins. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasm, cytosol. Membrane, Lipid-anchor. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Widely expressed. Expressed in heart, brain, placenta, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney and pancreas.,Vesicle Protein Sorting,Chromatin-modifying protein 3, Vacuolar protein-sorting-associated protein 24, hVps24, Neuroendocrine differentiation factor, Charged multivesicular body protein 3, NEDF
