This antibody is specific to Human Granulocyte/Macrophage-Colony Stimulating Factor (GM-CSF)1-4. The BVD2-21C11 antibody has been reported to cross react with GM-CSF from Rhesus monkey. (This is a Neutralizing antibody.)
ELISA Detection: Biotinylated Monoclonal antibody ABIN371617 is the preferreddetection antibody in a Sandwich ELISA for quantifying human GM-CSF protein levels. (Ref.1-4)Immunofluorescence/Flow Cytometry: This antibody is useful for Intracytoplasmic stainingand Flow Cytometric analysis to identify and enumerate GM-CSF-positive cells within mixedcell populations. Recombinant human GM-CSF (Cat#ABIN371618 should be used as a Specificity Control. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

GM-CSF is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates the development of neutrophils and macrophages and promotes the proliferation and development of early erythroid megakaryocytic and eosinophilic progenitor cells. It is produced in by endothelial cells, monocytes, fibroblasts and T-lymphocytes. GM-CSF inhibits neutrophil migration and enhances the functional activity of the mature end-cells. The human and murine molecules are species-specific and exhibit no cross-species reactivity.Synonyms: CSF2, Colony stimulating factor 2, GMCSF, Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor, Molgramostin, Sargramostim
