- Sujet
- TXNIP (thioredoxin interacting protein) inhibits thioredoxin activity by limiting its bioavailability in response to oxidative stress. TXNIP restores COPS5-induced suppression of CDKN1B stability by interacting with COPS5 and blocks the COPS5-mediated translocation of CDKN1B from nucleus to the cytoplasm. TXNIP functions as a transcriptional repressor. TXNIP has been reported to be a suppressor of tumor cell growth and inhibits the proteasomal degradation of DDIT4, contributing to the inhibition of the mammalian target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). TXNIP is expresed in adipose tissue, adrenal cortex, adrenal gland, amniotic fluid and amygdale.
