Application
- Western Blotting (WB), ELISA, Immunoprecipitation (IP)
- Réactivité croisée (Details)
- Cross reactivity against Bilirubin Oxidase from other sources is unknown.
- Purification
- Bilirubin Oxidase is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Goat Serum as well as purified and partially purified Bilirubin Oxidase [Myrothecium verrucaria].

Application Note: Anti-Bilirubin Oxidase has been assayed against 1.0 μg of Bilirubin Oxidase [Myrothecium verrucaria] in a standard capture ELISA using ABTS (2,2'-azino-bis-[3-ethylbenthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid]) code # ABTS-100 as a substrate for 30 minutes at room temperature. A working dilution of 1:500 to 1:2,500 of the reconstitution concentration is suggested for this product.

Synonyms: Bilirubin Oxidase
Background: Bilirubin Oxidase is key in the oxidation of bilirubin and other tetrapyrroles. This enzyme belongs to the family of oxidoreductases, to be specific those acting on the CH-CH group of donor with oxygen as acceptor. The systematic name of this enzyme class is bilirubin:oxygen oxidoreductase. This enzyme is also called bilirubin oxidase M-1. This enzyme participates in porphyrin and chlorophyll metabolism.
