This is a synthetic peptide designed for use in combination with anti-PAX8 antibody (Catalog #: ARP48088_P050). It may block above mentioned antibody from binding to its target protein in western blot and/or immunohistochecmistry under proper experimental settings. There is no guarantee for its use in other applications.
PAX8 is a member of the paired box (PAX) family of transcription factors. Members of this family typically contain a paired box domain, an octapeptide, and a paired-type homeodomain. This nuclear protein is involved in thyroid follicular cell development and expression of thyroid-specific genes. Mutations in its gene have been associated with thyroid dysgenesis, thyroid follicular carcinomas and atypical follicular thyroid adenomas. This gene is a member of the paired box (PAX) family of transcription factors. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.
